Pet Safety Alert: Peanut Butter May Contain Xylitol

Almond-Butter-TeddyLast month we told you about Xylitol toxicity in dogs and now the news is reporting that Fido’s favorite treat, peanut butter, may contain Xylitol.

Some companies are using Xylitol in peanut butter as opposed to natural sugar and while this is fine and dandy for the humans waistline, it can be deadly to your dog.

Before you purchase peanut butter, be sure you check the label to ensure your favorite brand doesn’t include this deadly sweet substitute.

Krush Nutrition and Nuts N’ More are currently using Xylitol in their peanut butter products. PreventativeVet.com is keeping an eye on other brands and working with the manufacturers to warn pet parents about the dog dangerous ingredient.
