Leah Lewis-Camp Counselor
We are excited for you to meet Leah.
She has been working at Camp for nearly a year and doubles as a Camp Counselor and In-Home Pet Sitter (Home Buddy).
Leah has always loved dogs and has volunteered with Detroit Dog Rescue and has three rescues of her own.
Leah has a big heart and loves working with rescue dogs, nervous dogs, and pretty much any and every type of dog. She has three dogs of her own; Spiro a 12-year old Collie Mix who enjoys barking at everything, Candy a Golden mix, and Midget, the newest addition to the family, a two-year old small Pitt Mix that’s full of energy! Boo, the 15-year old cat, barely tolerates all these “other” people (fuzzy and human) in her house.
Leah’s favorite part of Camp is welcoming the new dogs to the play yard, she loves being part of the interview process and watching the shy dogs come out of their shell and grow confident in after only a short time in “the pack.”
Between her 11 year old son, husband and four furry kids there’s not much “free” time to be had but…she enjoys a few minutes here and there reading a book while she’s waiting for her sons’ swim or football practice to finish.
