Puppy Socialization Hour Wrap Up

5 things we learned in puppy classThe  first Camp Bow Wow, Saint Clair Shores Puppy Socialization Hour was a huge hit. There’s nothing like the smell of puppy breath and the sound of clumsy puppy paws on a Saturday morning and watching these little guys ease into the world of puppy-dom was full of laughs.

The transformation of these timid pups week by week was astounding. What started off as everyone hiding under the chair and behind Mom and Dad’s legs turned into them dragging Mom and Dad in the front door by week #2.

They learned how to interact with each other by sniffing butts and playing by running around and tripping over each other. They taught each other about bite pressure and boundaries and of course, how to turn the water bowl into a swimming pool.

We talked about the most common mistakes made with puppies, crate and house training, nutrition and leash walking. We laughed together and learned together and have gotten these puppies ready for life.

The Campers who have reached the 4 month age requirement have visited us at Camp and had their first “big” socialization experience and they all entered with excitement instead of fear.

If you have a puppy (under 20 weeks) with age appropriate vaccinations an are interested in our next Puppy Socialization Hour, send us an email to scs@campbowwow.com or give us a call at Camp 586-445-9663.
