Meet Christina! Christina is our new Camp Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations both human and canine.
While Christina has always loved animals, she is departing from a 12 year career in finance to pursue her passion and work with animals.
Christina and her (then) Fiancee Dalton, rescued their first dog Tucker, in November 2012. Tucker was only 8 months old but had already been through 5 previous homes before finding his “fur-ever” home with Christina and Dalton. Tucker suffered from extreme separation anxiety so the search began for a playmate. Christina reached out to the Detroit Dog Rescue and had a meet n’ greet with another DDR adoptable dog before meeting “Cashmere”. Cashmere was rescued from a drug raid in Detroit and was the only surviving animal in that raid. She sustained physical and emotional wounds but with the love of a foster family and socialization at Camp, she adjusted to her new life.
Cashmere went on a meet and greet and has been making herself at home, at Christina and Dalton’s, since that day. She immediately fell in love with her new Brother Tucker and bonded with her new family at the Camp Bow Wow Level One Basic Obedience Class.
Now named Brooklyn, “Cashmere” has gained confidence (and size) and now runs with the big boys at Camp. While she looks rough and tumble, she’s very much a Mama’s girl, and Christina wouldn’t have it any other way.
Christina became acquainted with Camp through the training class and daycare and wished she could be a part of something she loved as much as animals. When the Camp Manager position became available she wasted no time applying and now has become our fearless leader. With her statuesque 5 foot frame, she is working on “thinking tall” when she’s in the large play yard and pretending the majority of the dogs aren’t bigger than her.
Christina’s experience in management and passion for animals make her the perfect fit for Camp Manager and we’re happy to welcome her to the pack.
