Sunday, September 8th the Village of Grosse Pointe hosted the annual “Village Fest”. An end of summer block party celebration featuring local businesses, vendors and and a street fair.
Tony Caruso of Camp Bow Wow, Saint Clair Shores was the Grand Marshall of the Pooch Parade, leading pooches and parents from the center of the festival on a parade through the Village, down to Cadieux.
Partnering with the Michigan Humane Society, prizes were given for contests ranging from best dressed, to best owner/dog look-a-like and best trick.
The rain held off for this two day event and the pups remained dry and happy while they strutted their stuff down the street. Local residents and visitors flooded the village for the annual festival and the pooch’s were a huge hit.
Although all the contestants were dressed to impress, this little pug stole the award with her short denim skirt and bedazzled top. Who doesn’t love a pug in a belt?
Mack was winner for best trick, which was the best leave it we’ve ever seen! Mack patiently left a tasty treat on his paw until his owner gave the “ok” for him to enjoy his snack!
We enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones and scratching lots of butts (dog butts, not human ones). We look forward to seeing our new friends at Camp soon and introducing them to the pack!
