Adoptable Dogs-Roofus

Meet Roofus. This sweet handsome boy was rescued from a rooftop on the West side of Detroit. He was extremely shy and malnourished but is now a healthy weight and is really coming out of his shell.

This little guy has a big heart and has come a long way from his incredibly fearful state. When he came to stay at Camp he was so afraid he was barely approachable. He would shy away and shake and was terrified to make eye contact.

New Leash on Life

These days Roofus is more than happy to see us and look us in the eye with those adorable big brown eyes. He even does a little dance in his Cabin at breakfast and dinner time, it involves an incredibly fast spin of tail chasing and is quite hilarious.

Roofus plays well with other dogs and is getting more confident every day with both dogs and people. Recently, Roofus began venturing out and taking walks with the volunteer DDR dog walkers. He’s taking on new adventures everyday and is ready to find his fur-ever family.

Adopt Roofus

Roofus has been vaccinated and neutered and is ready for adoption. If you’re interested in knowing more about this handsome boy contact the Detroit Dog Rescue and fill out an adoption form. If you aren’t prepared for an immediate adoption consider helping out the Detroit Dog Rescue by becoming a foster family.  Capacity is one of the biggest challenges for any rescue organization and fostering a dog combats that challenge and provides a home environment for these dogs who so desperately need it. The insight a foster family can give is crucial to placing these dogs in their fur-ever homes.

Have you fostered a dog? What was your favorite thing about being a foster family?
